Me Edmond Wirion, founder of the law firm

History

1940

Me Edmond Wirion, founder of the law firm, was sworn in as a lawyer in 1940.

1948

After World War II, and following his judicial internship, he established his own firm in 1948, with offices initially located in Limpertsberg and from 1952 onward, in Luxembourg City, Place du Théâtre, where the firm remains to this day.

1978

He was a member of the Bar Council and served as the President of the Luxembourg Bar Association from 1978 to 1980.

Since its creation, the firm has specialized in insurance law, particularly in personal injury compensation, civil law in general (with a strong focus on contractual law), and adoption law.

Me Edmond Wirion was also sworn in by the Luxembourg Courts as a calculation expert to determine compensation for victims of accidents and crimes.

1980 / 1983

In 1980, he was joined by his daughter, Me Monique Wirion, and in 1983 by his son-in-law, Me Jean Kauffman.

Since then, the firm has been known as WIRION & KAUFFMAN.

2017

In 2017, Me François Kauffman (grandson of Me Edmond Wirion and son of Me Monique Wirion and Me Jean Kauffman) joined the firm after spending just over two years at one of Luxembourg’s leading law firms.

Today, the firm continues to advise clients on all matters related to insurance law and personal injury compensation, as well as liability law (contractual or tort), inheritance law, family law (including divorce, adoptions, and guardianship/conservatorship), construction law, rental law, and labor law.

It always strives to find pragmatic solutions to every question/problem, favoring out-of-court solutions to avoid, whenever possible, uncertain judicial proceedings.
